Switzerland, as a MDC, its pollution level is relatively lower than most LDCs. Switzerland ranks at top in 2012 according to the Environmental Performance Index (EPI)1. In contrast China ranks at 116. 2Switzerland won the first appraisement for efficient policies on pollution control, ecosystem vitality, and environmental health. The categories of pollutions mainly involve air pollution, wastes pollution, water pollution, ship pollution, noise and light pollution in Switzerland3. Air pollution causes the most damage of environment ranking first among all kinds of pollution in Switzerland. So influential it is that the Swiss government mostly concerns the control and prevention of air pollution. Air pollution Geographically air pollutions are considered as the excess of such compounds as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur oxide, nitrogen oxide, which consist of primary pollution and react with each other to form secondary pollution. The question is why Switzerland, which is of high quality of health security and environmental protection system, is being interfered by the air pollution. The main pollutants in Switzerland are nitrogen dioxide and volatile organic compounds. These pollutants are produced by road emissions (especially diesel engines) and industries4. 5 Benzene, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and ammonia are other types of pollutants. In 2000, Transport accounted for nearly 31% of greenhouse gases in Switzerland6. The immediate source of air pollution is the fuel consumption that goes on in domestic heating (about 50%), in motor vehicles (about 25%), and in industry (about 25%).
