1st period words and warming up
教材分析(the analysis of teaching materials)
This lesson’s topic is humor. The purpose is let the Ss to realize: because the cultural differences, people have different understand with humor and performance of the humor also will be different. This lesson through show a variety of humor forms, to train the Ss’ sense of humor.
学情分析(the analysis of the students)
Our Ss know little about English jokes and humor, the sense of humor is a very important part of personal charisma. Try to understand English humor need the knowledge of English, especially need the guide from teacher. We should introduce many English jokes to our Ss, the more the better. Let them to bring up the sense of English humor.
教学目标(Teaching aims)
*知识目标(Knowledge aims)
Let the Ss know how to read and can recite the following new words:
slide, skin, cruel, content, astonish, particular, entertain, entertaining, throughout,
homeless, worn-out, failure, overcome, difficulty, boil, fortunate, snowstorm, etc.
Let the Ss know different types of humor.
*能力目标(Ability aims)
1. Make the Ss to talk about different types of humor;
2. Enable students to talk about some types of English humor and Chinese humor.
3. Learn how to express one’s emotions
教学重点和难点(teaching important points and difficult points)
Teaching important points:
Help students learn how to understand and enjoy English humors.
Read and can recite the new words.
Difficult points:
Help students know the differences between English and Chinese in humor.
Learn how to express one’s emotions.
教学过程(Teaching procedures)
Step 1: Warm up
1. Greeting
2. Learn new words.
Read the new words after the tape
Read the new words by themselves
Read the new words together
Step 2: Presentation/practice
Task 1. Show some jokes to students, let them talk about the jokes and then ask them what they think of the jokes, whether they are funny
