Ⅰ Warm up:
1) Leading-in
Before the lesson, listen to a piece of country music to lead into the topic “City and Country ”
2) Then show some pictures about city and country to make students compare them. Ask students to think about and answer the questions:
a). How about the life in the city / country in China?
b). Can you imagine city and country lifestyles in Britain?
Key words to help them: office, farm, underground, walk, crowded, space, quiet, noisy.
Match the key words with shown pictures.
Ⅱ Reading
1)Pre-reading
Read the strategies on P14 together and then guess what the two articles are about.
2)While-reading
a). First-reading
Now listen to the tape, then check your guesses.

b). Second- reading
①While you’re reading, circle the new words and guess their meanings.

②Fill in the blanks according to the text.
③Students read the texts again and complete the table on P14.
