There are certain fundamental conceptions of interface design, like the need for good conceptual models and visibility. Current trends in interaction design are the attempts at exploiting humans’ natural abilities in the design of Human-Computer Interactions, and of stimulating all the human senses, not only the audio-visual ones. The Tangible User Interface (TUI) is a means of physically representing digital information. TUIs have been used in research projects such as the MediaBlocks, a physical URL, the Pinwheels, which visualize information flows in an architectural space and the inTouch, a device that applies haptic feedback technology to interpersonal communication.
