The second period: Reading and Vocabulary
I. Teaching Objectives
1. Language Objectives
Important words and phrases
monitor ,CD桼om, hard disk, access, crass, download, hardware, keyword, log on/ log off, modem, software,breakdown,surf.
2. Ability Objectives
(1) Enable the Ss to know the structure of a computer, and their separate functions.
(2) Enable the Ss their ability to express their own ideas.
3. Moral Objectives
(1) Cultivate the Ss to have a right viewpoint of the Internt and computer.
(2) Help the network addicts to get out of their troubles.
II. Important Points
Encourage the students to talk about computers as well as the Internet.
Help the students make sense of the passage.
Help the students to improve their reading ability.
III. Difficult Points
Lead the students to talk in class actively.
Deal with some difficult language points.
IV. Teaching Methods
1. Reading, Discussing, Asking and Answering, Pictures, Group work, Explaining
2. Teaching Aids: a tape recorder, a projector and a computer

Step I Revision
1. Check the homework.
2. Ask some students to read words and expressions in module 6
Step II Lead-in

T: you have 5 mins to read the passage quickly After that, answer the following questions:

What is WWW? And who invented it?
Then check the answer, and help the students with their problems if they have any problems.

T: Reading the text quickly and divided the passage into serveral parts and find the main idea of each part.
