In order to buy a new house, he had to do several part-time jobs. ［注意］in order to与so as to 都可放在句中；放在句首时只能用in order to，不可用so as to。 He got up early in order not to be late. He kept quiet so as not to wake up the baby. ［注意］in order to与so as to的否定形式都是在不定式符号to前加not, 即in order not to与so as not to 3.如果in order to/ so as to 连接的目的状语，其不定式的逻辑主语（即不定式的动作发出者）与 这个句子的主语一致时，可以与so that/ in order that 引导的目的状语从句转换，但是so that 引 导的目的状语从句不能放在句首。 He sold the old mobile phone in order to buy a better one. → He sold the old mobile phone in order that/ so that he could buy a better one. He got up early so that he could catch the first bus. →He got up early ____ ______ ______ catch the first bus. He went to school without breakfast so that he would not be late for class again. →He went to school without breakfast _____ ____ ____ ____ be late for class again. 4. 动词不定式作目的状语时，如果不定式的动作发出者与这个句子的主语不一致时，则需用 for sb. to do sth. 结构。例如： He spoke slowly for us to follow him. → He spoke slowly in order that/ so that we could follow him. ［注意］：so that/ in orde that 连接的目的状语从句中常使用情态动词may/ might / can/ could。 Ⅱ. 不定式的其他几种情况 1. 在不定式的前面可加never, only, 等副词表示意料之外的结果。 He woke up only to find everybody gone.（他醒来结果却发现大家都走了。） His father left never to come back again.（他的父亲离开了，竟再也没回来。） 2. 在某些表示喜，怒，哀，乐的形容词作表语时，在其后跟不定式表示原因。如： I am very glad to see you. I am so sorry to hear your mother is ill. 3. 在带有enough或too的句子里，也常用不定式作状语，表示程度。如： He was too excited to say a word. He is old enough to go to school. She is too tired to do the job. 比较：He is too anxious to see his father. Tom is too eager to join the football club. 4.
