Module 1 Life in the future
Teaching aims:
Develop students’ imagination for the life in the future.
Learn some new words and phrases relating to the topic.
Language aims including speaking, listening and writing.
Grammar
Teaching process:
Step 1 Learn the new words and phrases in module 1 Pay more attention to the following:
A: alternative, aluminium, arrest, brick, concrete, criminal, disability, load, mall, material, mud, net, online, operation, outdoors, recreation, resource, rubber, solar, steel, surgery, urban , waste(v)
B: carry out, for sure, run out, place an order, rely on use up
Step 2. Introduction Focus on Activity 2 in the introduction.
Step 3. Reading and vocabulary.
A: Let students read the whole passage after the tape. Make sure that they have learned its main idea before finishing Activity 3 and Activity 5 of this section.
B: Read the passage again and then do Activity 6
Step 4: Language points
No one knows for sure, and making predictions is a risky business.
In the future, care for the environment will become very important as earth’s natural resources run out.
We will also have to rely more on alternative energy, such as solar and wind power.
To get rid of garbage problem, the city will load huge spaceships with waste materials and send them towards the sun.
Every \one will be given a telephone number at birth that will never change no matter where they live.
Revise with-phrase … with each city having its own telesurgery outpatient clinic.
Senior citizens and people with disabilities will be able to go anywhere in the wolrd using high-tech cameras attached to their head.
Step 5 Function Talking about the future
Lay the importance on Activity 2 and Activity 3
Step 6 Listening and speaking Listening material::
