* CHAP 100088 Numerical study on the instability of Al droved by detonation He changjiang, Zhou Haibing, Hang Yihong Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Laboratory of Computational Physics, Beijing 100081, China) Abstract: The instability of Al droved by detonation is numerically studied by using the elastic-plastic hydrodynamics code CHAP. The Al is dealed with fluid state or elastic-plastic solid state. The results are compared with tests. It shows, for the computation of the instability of metal droved by detonation, the elastic-plastic effects must be included in computing. The computing results with fluid model have large difference with the tests. The computing results with elastic-plastic model have well compared with the tests. The cut-off wavelength exists for the metal instability growth. When the wavelengths become larger and larger from small, the instability turns from essentially not growing to growing with exponentially.
