Women’s Liberation Movement Introduction to Social movements in 1960s Hello, class! Today, we are going to study a new chapter on social movements of the 1960s in the United States. According to Charles Morris, an American author, the Sixties is a time of passion, which leads to the outbreak of many populist movements, including the civil rights movements. In fact, many of these social movements contribute to the making of a modern America as we see today. In this chapter, we are going to deal with those movements and see how and why they were conducive to the changes that have taken place since the 1960s.
