With a definite beginning an end date Creates a unique product, service or result Has interrelated activities Is progressively elaborated as the project is better understood Operation – Involves work that is continuous without an end date and often repeats the same process. Project Management – Is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. PMBOK – The project management body of knowledge (PMBOK?) is an inclusive term that describes the sum of knowledge within the profession of project management. Definitions - Project, Project Management, PMBOK * Project Management Endeavors Program – A program is a group of projects managed in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them individually. Sub-Projects – Projects are frequently divided into more manageable components or subprojects. Project Portfolio Management – Refers to the selection and support of projects or program investments. These investments in projects and programs are guided by the organization’s strategic plan and available resources. * Project Stakeholders Stakeholder – Are individuals and organizations that are actively involved in the project, or whose interests may be positively or negatively affected as a result of project execution or project completion; they may also exert influence over the project and its results.
