Using Storage vMotion, you can migrate a virtual machine and its files from one datastore to another while the virtual machine is running. The virtual machine stays on same host and the virtual machine files are individually moved to a different datastore location. Storage vMotion process does not disturb the virtual machine, there is no downtime, it is transparent to guest operating system and the application running on the virtual machine. You can migrate a virtual machine from one physical storage type like FC to a different storage type like iSCSI. Storage vMotion supports FC, iSCSI NAS network storage.
