In addition to holding the latches, be prepared to support the SP to avoid dropping it.1Remove any cables (fibre optic, expansion, LAN, SPS) that are attached to the component.?Tip?Label the cables, so that you will know where to reconnect them.2Locate the left and right latches. (Orange tabs cover the latches.)3Pinch the latches and pull them to the sides to eject the module from the chassis.4Pull the module straight out and place it on a static-free surface.?Removing the SP top cover1Press the blue button on the cover and push it back a 1/4 inch.?2Lift the cover up.Removing the ?I/O module from the failed SPNote?You will install this I/O module on the replacement SP module.1Lift the blue latch carefully until it ejects the module from the connector.?2Lift the module out and away from the canister.Installing the I/O module on the new SP moduleNote?Install the I/O module that you removed from the failed SP module.1Angle the module slightly to fit it into the canister and align it with the blue alignment pins.???Caution?Do not attempt to seat the I/O module into the CPU connector while you are holding the I/O module at an angle.
