After Ss know what they are, they are ready to find out how helpful they can be. Therefore, the teacher is supposed to prepare some skimming and scanning exercises, which, usually in the form of questions, demand a quality of being directive. Only with this feature can they serve to help Ss locate the needed information in the smallest amount of time. As a matter of fact, Ss will have a general idea of the whole passage afterwards, and get prepared for the detailed reading. In the process of detailed reading, Ss can be asked to create some questions and use those to crosscheck the comprehension in pairs, groups or even the whole class. In this way, Ss are expected to polish their abilities in both reading and writing. Then, Ss will do some written exercise in class.
