Examples of use of the protocol can be found in Luepke (1985), Balls et al. (1995), Gilleron et al. (1996, 1997), and Spielmann et al. (1996). Future studies using the HET-CAM test method could include further characterization of the usefulness or limitations of the HET-CAM test method in a weight of evidence approach for regulatory decision making. Users should be aware that the proposed test method protocol could be revised based on any additional optimization and/or validation studies that are conducted in the future.
