2011年北京《中考说明》新增词汇解读

今年北京《中考说明》英语部分比去年新增了5个词汇,即:confident, independent, opinion, survey, theory。其中前两个是形容词,后三个皆为名词,但survey还可用作动词。考生对这五个词应该特别注意,做到一知三会: 知其意、会辨别、会拼写、会应用。下面对这五个词分别进行讲解:
confident adj.
1. [not before noun] sure that something will happen in the way that you want or expect确信的, 肯定的,有把握的
confident (that)
He is confident that there will be no problems this time.
他有把握这次不会有问题了。
confident of
The company is confident of success.
confident about
I feel quite confident about the future. 我对未来充满自信。
2. sure that you have the ability to do things well or deal with situations successfully: 有信心的, 自信的
Despite her disability, Philippa is very confident.
虽然身残,但Philippa非常自信。
confident about
I feel much more confident about myself and my abilities these days.
现在我对自己的能力更加自信了。
