[Abstract] Objective: The paper will analyze the result, experience and the deficiencies of the project and put forward suggestions to promote the basic public health service. Methodology: This paper uses both qualitative research and quantitative research methods in order to analyze and evaluate effect of the implementation of basic public health service project. Result: In 2009, the rate of filing of the old who are older than 60 in the urban and rural areas in Xuzhou are 46.62% and 59.44%respectively. The dynamic digital management of the health files are respectively 93.43% and 89.21%; Visit to maternal postpartum rate are respectively 79.12% and 95.45%; The standardized management of patients with diabetes are 90.34% and 88.09%; Twenty-two contents within nine categories of basic public health service are scored 77.46 points and 89.2 points. Conclusions: The implementation effect of the public health service project is significant. It improves the accessibility of basic medical and health services. But the project needs further improvement in the aspects in the system construction, finance management, and urgent evaluation, as well as adjustment in the index system, policy targets and project reports.
