XTS 1500/XTS 2500/XTS 2500I XTS 2250 Portable Radios Intrinsically Safe FM Approval labels are attached to the radio to identify the unit as being FM Approved for specified hazardous atmospheres. This label specifies the hazardous Class/Division/Group along with the part number of the battery that must be used. Their Approval mark is shown above. The hazardous location ratings are divided into Class, Division, and Group to indicate the existence of flammable gases or vapors, ignitable dust, fibers, or filings under normal or unlikely conditions of operation. The MT/PR 1500 and ASTRO XTS 1500/XTS 2500/XTS 2500I/XTS 2250 Portable Radio, when properly equipped with the FM battery option, using batteries NTN9816_, NTN9857_, or NNTN6263_, is FM approved by Factory Mutual (FM) as intrinsically safe for use in Classes I, II, and III, Division 1, Groups C, D, E, F, G, and for nonincendive use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D. Note: The radios and accessories on the following pages are approved as intrinsically safe by Factory Mutual Approvals. Refer to the radio label for intrinsic safety ratings and required batteries. Only the accessories and antennas listed on the following pages may be used on approved radios. The ASTRO XTS radios with secure module part numbers, and properly equipped with the FM/CSA battery option, using batteries NTN9816_, NTN9857_, or NNTN6263_, are FM/CSA approved for Division 1, Class I, II, III, Groups D, F, G, and for nonincendive use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D.
