What outcome are you looking for? #2 Why You Need to Know AboutDifferent Approaches to Discipline Most people have little training or education about how to work with children of different ages. Parents need to know what they want to accomplish and how to go about doing so in child rearing. Need set of options for discipline #3 Preparing Discipline Be united Plan ahead! Based on theories of Behaviorism. Negative behaviors in children are due to them having been taught to act in a certain manner. New training and reinforcing is required to teach desired behaviors. Natural And Logical Consequences “Parenting with Love and Logic” –Cline Fay Natural Consequence = actions have a direct reaction from the preceding behavior Logical Consequences = actions have an imposed reaction by a caregiver that is connected to the preceding behavior #5 Democratic Child Training Behavior is motivated by reason/s.
