Using language (Listening /Speaking Writing)
Teaching Aims and Demands:
Train the students’ listening ability. speaking ability and writing ability.
Enable the students to know how to ask the way politely if they want to go to some strange place and how to direct the way if someone asks you for help.
Teaching Important Points:
The understanding of listening material.
Master the ways of asking the way and giving the answer.
Help the students write a description of something.
Teaching Difficult Points:
How to improve the students’ listening ability.
Talk about the activities in the amusement.
How to master the useful expressions in this unit and how to write a description.
Teaching procedures:
Step One Lead-in
Pre-listening(To get the students well-prepared for the listening part)
T: Ask the students to enjoy the video of Chinese Ethnic Culture Park.
What can you see in the video?
S: It’s Chinese Ethnic Culture Park.
T: What do you know about it?
S: …… ………
T: (Show the pictures of the Chinese Ethnic Park)
S: They’re some of the minority national groups of China.
T: What customs do you know about the ethnic minority?
(Show the pictures of different ethnic minority people)
S:They’re dai、Bai、Naxi、Miao and Uyghur.
T: Do you want to have more information of them? Please listen.
Step Two Listening
While –listening
T: Listen to the tape, then match each national group to an example of its customs.
(Play the tape for the Ss to listen and match. Then show the pictures of Naxi’s food、
Uyghur’s dancing.、Dai’s singing、Miao’s cloth 、Bai’s woodwork and different styles of houses.)
T: Do you know how many cultural groups are represented in theme park ?
Listen again and fill in the blanks.
