(1)or可与祈使句连用,意为“否则,要不然”. 好好学习,否则你会不及格的。 (2) marry vt. 嫁或娶,和...结婚 1) marry sb./ get married 表示动作 He is going to marry Jane. They got married last year. 他们去年结的婚。 2) married adj. be married (to sb.)嫁给(某人),表示状态 They have been married for 13 years. 3) marry sb. to sb. 表示父母把女儿嫁给某人或为儿子娶媳妇。 It was her parents who married her to Tom. 是她父母把她嫁给了汤姆。 2. As Hippomenes watched, he thought, “How can I as fast as Atlanta?” as用作连词,可引导时间、原因、方式、让步等状语从句。具体用法如下: (1)“当的时候”引导时间状语从句.相当于when或 while。但as更强调主句的动作和从句的动作或事情同时发生,常做“一面…… 一面”解。如: The girl sings as she goes to school. (2)表示“随着”如: As children get older, they become more and more interested in everything. (3) as =since 作既然、由于解,引导原因状语从句,常用来表示已为人们所知或显而易见的原因或理由。如: As he wasnt ready, we went without him. (4).作像、按照……的方式解, 引导方式状语从句。如: Remember, you must do everything as I do. (5) 用于as as或not / so/ as as中,前一个as是副词,后一个as是连词,引导比较状语从句。如: I dont speak English so/ as well as she does. (6) 表示虽然,尽管 等,引导让步状语从句,常用倒装语序,模式为: adj. /adv. / n.+ as +主语+谓语+主句。 如: Young as he is, he knows much. Tired as they were, they walked on. 3. She promised to help him and gave him three golden apples. promise v t. 允诺,答应 promise sth. 答应某事 promise sb. sth./promise
