25 June 2016 Update: Implementation of SOLAS Requirement for Verified Gross Mass (VGM) Referring to our previous announcement in relation to the implementation of SOLARS requirements for Verified Gross Mass (VGM), following International Maritime Organization (IMO), the commencement date of 1 July 2016 will be carried on. ? VGM : Includes but not limit to weight of all cargoes, packing material, dunnage container tare weight. ? Two methods for our VGM Submission to carriers - Method 1, weigh the packed container by using approved weighing scale - Method 2, weigh all packages and cargo items individually, incl. mass of dunnage, packing and securing material and add to tare weight of the container Update requirements for VGM submission: Requirements Details (Applicable for FCL shipment with vessel loading date on or after 1 July 2016) Mandatory Booking / Container Number, VGM (in KGS), Name of Person authorized by shipper contact details. information Subject to Booking Confirmation. VGM cut off time (At least 1 day prior to CY cut off time from carrier schedule.) Per Hong Kong Regulations: Per China Regulations: VGM Tolerance - less or equal to 10 tons per container: +/- 0.5 tons +/- 5% or +/- 1.0 tons (whichever is smaller) - more than 10 tons per container : +/- 5% NO VGM = NO LOAD. FCL may not be accepted “gate in” terminal if no VGM is provided. Non Compliance **All associated costs with shut out / re-weighing / return of cargo, etc will be at Shipper’s account.
