Methods Retrospective analysis of 19 cases of structural damage of knee MRI after the lateral performance of ligament tendon morphology and signal changes and the accompanying signs. Results of 19 cases MRI showed abnormal performance, completely torn lateral collateral ligament in 7 cases, 9 cases of partial tear, complete tear in 3 cases of popliteal tendon, partial tear in 9 cases, popliteal ligament partial tear in 1 case, MRI showed ligament / or partial disruption of tendon discontinuity, tearing at the different levels of the signal increased. Conclusion MR examination can better display and evaluation of posterolateral knee structures, to determine whether the existence of other concurrent injury and damage. Methods Nineteen patients with actute posterolateral corner injuries were retrospectively studied using MR scans.The morphologieal features, course and signal intensity of the ligaments, tendons and associated signs were analyzed respectively. Results Complete disruption of the lateral collateral ligament was showed in 7 and partial tear in 9. Complete disruption of popliteus tendon was showed in 3 and partial tear in 9, popliteal fibular ligament partial tear in 1. On MR imaging, complete disruption of the ligament or tendon appeared as an interruption of its normal contour, whereas a partial tear appeared as thickening and high signal intensity within its midsubstance.
