 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 12 Congenital hemivertebrae scoliosis deformity surgery [Abstract] Objective To investigate the treatment of adolescents with congenital hemivertebrae scoliosis deformity and surgical treatment. Methods 19 cases of congenital hemivertebrae scoliosis, in accordance with the semi-surgical procedures are divided into anterior vertebral body resection, Short segment fixation, anterior resection of half of vertebral body, posterior vertebral body resection of the residual semi-articular process, lamina, orthopedic fixation, posterior half of vertebral body resection, orthopedic fixation. Results Of the 19 patients, mean correction of scoliosis angle of 35.4 , correction rate of 63%, after 6 to 24 months, 2 patients junction “plus” phenomenon, and the remaining half corpectomy cases the bone healed well, no broken rods, decoupling and other complications, to achieve satisfactory correction results . Conclusion hemivertebra deformity in children should be the early surgical treatment. [Keywords:] congenital scoliosis, hemivertebrae, surgery Abstract: Objective To explore the operation and clinical results of surgical treatment of congenital scoliosis of hemivertebra.Methods 19 cases of congenital scoliosis of hemivertebra were treated by hemivertebra excision, internal fixation through anterior, posterior or anterior and posterior approach.Results The average follow up was 10 months, with arrange of 8 ~ 24 months, 2 cases occurred adding on phenomenon, 17 cases had satisfactory correction and fusion results.The average Cobb’s angle of correction was 35.4, the rate of correction was 63%. Conclusion Congenital hemivertebra should be treated surgically earlier.
