[Method] reviewed our hospital since May 2004 ~ February 2005, 30 cases of comminuted fractures of the tibia in patients treated with surgery. Select the appropriate timing of surgery, delayed open reduction and application of distal tibial anatomic medial plate fixation, and bone graft in all patients to carry out preventive. [Results] The patients were followed up 8 to 17 months, an average of 139 months, the wounds healed in all cases to obtain bone union, the average healing time was 127 weeks (9 to 16 weeks). According to Mazur score criteria: excellent in 22 cases, good in 6 cases, fair in 2 cases and poor in 0 cases, excellent rate of 933%, all patients without serious complications. [Conclusion] The distal medial tibial anatomic tibial plate is the ideal fracture within the next fixture, select the appropriate timing of surgery, preventive efficacy of bone graft is a satisfactory guarantee. [Method] From May 2004 to Feb.2005, 30 cases of distal tibial fracture were treated in the department. All cases were treated with open reduction, internal fixation with medial anatomic plates, and with bone-grafting prophylacticly in all cases. The operation would be done on 10 ~ 14 days after fracture.They were followed up and analyzed retrospectively. [Result] All cases were followed up for 8 ~ 17 months (average 13.9 months).
