 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 11 Misdiagnosis of 28 cases of ectopic pregnancy [Abstract] Objective To analyze the reasons for misdiagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, in order to improve the diagnostic ability of ectopic pregnancy, especially in atypical cases the diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Methods reviewed in our hospital from January 2004 to December 2007 Misdiagnosis of ectopic pregnancy were treated 28 cases to their medical records, and misdiagnosis of misdiagnosis were discussed. the result of misdiagnosis of ectopic pregnancy following main reasons: (1) individual physicians lack of awareness of ectopic pregnancy, (2) asked about the history is unknown, (3) too much emphasis on signs of a relaxed vigilance against the disease. Conclusion clinicians to improve as long as the ideological understanding of ectopic pregnancy, careful history taking, understanding the clinical symptoms, in a timely manner related to inspection, to can improve the diagnostic rate and reduce misdiagnosis. Methods A retrospective analysis was made to the clinical data of the 28 cases with ectopic pregnancy hospitalized from Jan., 2004 to Dec., 2007.Results The misdiagnosis of ectopic pregnancy were mainly caused by: 1. doctors’ lack of thorough cognition of ectopic pregnancy; 2. careless case history consultation; 3. over-stress on one certain symptom but not the whole.Conclusions Better cognition of ectopic pregnancy, careful case history consultation, thorough understanding of the clinical symptoms and related examinations can help raise the diagnosis accuracy.
