Step 2 Lead-in To start the lesson by asking the students some questions 1. Have you ever seen any of Zhang Yimou’s films? Besides films, what else has Zhang Yimou directed? 2. Have you ever seen the Beijing Opera? 3. Besides the Beijing Opera, have you ever enjoyed other foreign operas? Ask the students to talk freely in order to create an easy atmosphere to encourage the students to practise their spoken language. Ask the students to prepare some information in advance.
