Abstract: E ffective therm al conductivit of porous m ed ia was investigated b expermi en tal and num erical approaches. Fractal pore net-
w ork mode,l w hich was the comb ination of fractal theor and pore network model, w as used to research the effective therm al conductiv-i
t of porous m edia. The num erical results agreed w ell w ith expermi ental ones, wh ich indicated that the fractal pore netw ork model is
suitable for researching effective therm al conductivit of porous m edia. The effects of pore-throat ratio, coord ination number, vertical
throat proportion, throat length, porosit , therm al conductivit ofm atrix and flu id on the effective therm al conductivit of porous m ed ia
w ere studied. Itw as revealed that vertical throat proportion can en large the thermo-res istance of porousm edia and decrease its effective
thermal conductivit . If thermal conductivit ofm atrix is larger than that of flu id, the effective ther
