INFORMATION SHEET ON CIVIL SUPPLIES MATTERS OF SUNDARGARH DISTRICT. FOOD SECURITY. PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM: The aim of the Public distribution system is to make available Essential Commodities/Food Stuffs to the poor needy and consumers under Public Distribution System timely, regularly and at reasonable Government fixed price. It is important aspect of the Food Security. The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department is divided in 2 Wings i.e Civil Supplies (Regulatory), Orissa State Civil Supplies Corporation. Ltd. and Consumer Welfare. a) C.S.O.: In this organization the Civil Supplies Officer-cum-District Manager, OSCSC Ltd. is the Officer-in-Charge. b) A.C.S.O.: The Govt. sanctioned 07 Nos. A.C.S.Os to this District, out of which 2 post of A.C.S.Os are lying vacant i.e. at Sadar Sundargarh Sub-Division and Bonai Sub-Division. The rest 05 posts deployed at Sundargarh (Hqr.) Rajgangpur (M), Panposh Sub-Division, Rourkela and lifting In- Charge at Rourkela c) Inspector of Supplies / Marketing Inspectors. Against the sanction strength Marketing Inspectors of 25 Inspector of Supplies / Marketing Inspector at present 19 posts are in existence and the rest 6 post are vacant in this District. CHANNELES OF P.D.S The Government in F.S and C.W Deptt. Is allotting P.D.S Commodities like Rice, Wheat, Sugar Kerosene Oil in each month to this district as per card position of the District. On receip0t of allotment from Government, the Collector is distributing the same to all 17 ITDP Blocks and 04 Municipalities. On receipt of Block and Municipality-wise allocation of P.D.S Commodities, the District Manager, OSCSC Ltd.Makes financial arrangement with food Corporation of India towards cost of commodities like Rice and Wheat and obtaining Release Orders from District Manager,F.C.I Sambalpur to lift the stocks from base Depots of F.C.I i.e Jharsuguda, Balijuri and Rourkela . Besides the above, the Rice stocks are being lifted from the different D.P.
