A possibleassociationbetweentheC(21562)TpolymorphismintheMMP-9geneandPDorsALSwasassessedbyrestriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis. Our results show a significant association between the C(21562)T polymorphismintheMMP-9geneandriskofPD(oddsratio=2.268,95%CI1.506–3.416,p,0.001)aswellasriskofsALS (oddsratio=2.163,95%CI1.233–3.796,p=0.006),supportingaroleforMMP-9polymorphismintheriskforPDandsALS.
