Abstract
Background:Thestepsofahigh-throughputproteomicsexperimentincludetheseparation,differentialexpression
andmassspectrometry-basedidentificationofproteins.However,thelastandmorechallengingstepisinferring
thebiologicalroleoftheidentifiedproteinsthroughtheirassociationwithinteractionnetworks,biological
pathways,analysisoftheeffectofpost-translationalmodifications,andotherprotein-relatedinformation.
