D ep artm ent o O r thop aedics, the C entral H o sp ital o W einan, W e inan 714000, Shanx ,i Ch ina ABSTRACT Objective:T o study the perioperati e m anagem en t and effects of prosthetic replacem ent in elder patient w ith fem oral neck fracture. ethods:Among 68 elder patients w ith fem oral neck fracture, 28 pa tients w ere male and 40 patien tsw ere fem ale, w ith an a erage age of 764 years ranging from 70 to 88 years. Be fore the operation the comprehensi e treatm ent, includ ing decreas ing blood sugar and blood pressure, nourish ing cardiacm uscle, protecting li er, correcting hypohem ia and hypoproteinem ia, were gi en to all patients. When preoperati e comp lication w as controlled, the prosthetic replacem ent operation w as performed. Results:A ll the patients underw ent the operation safely, and the surgical incision healed in stage ∀ . One patient suffered from d iarrhoea at early stage after operation, and healed after treatment w ith Ny statin. Accord ing toH arris e aluation criteria, ex cellent resu lt reached in 39 patients, good in 24 and fair in 5. The excellent and good rate w as 926% . Conclusion:E ffecti e perioperati em anagem ent ensures successfu l prosthetic replacem en t operation in elder patients w ith fem oral neck fracture.
