Thetoxicityofmostantifungalagents,thegreatnumberofcaseswithrecidives,aswellastheemergenceofresistantsamples hasprovokedtheevaluationofnewformsoftherapy.Inthiscontext,thephotodynamictherapy(PDT)presentsauspicious antimicrobialproperties,stimulatingthedevelopmentoftrialsemployingseveralkindsofphotosensitizers.Inthepresentwork, theapplicationofdifferentkindofAzuredyesasphotosensitizerinPDTagainstC.albicanswasevaluatedthroughinstrumental measurementsofelectronicspectroscopy.Infact,thevaluesofopticaldensitywereapreciseindicatorofthegrowthinhibition ofthemicroorganisms.Indeed,Azuresarephenothiaziniumderivativesthatconstituteaveryrelevantclassofcompoundswith severalbiomedicalapplications,suchasphotoantimicrobialtherapyagainstlocalbacterialinfection,tuberculosis,trypanosomi- asis,malaria,Rickettsia,yeasts,viralinfectionnandcancer.AzureA,AzureB,AzureAthiocyanate,AzureBBF ,AzureA 4 eosinatearethedyestestedagainstC.albicans.Theresultsdenotedcompletelydistinctbehaviorstothedifferenttypesof Azurecompoundevaluatedinthiswork.Infact,AzureAandAzureAeosinatepresentedsigni?ca
