Computedtomography(CT)andmagneticresonance(MR)imagefeaturesofthetemporomandibularjoint(TMJ)andassociated structuresintwomaturedromedarycamelswereobtainedwithathird-generationequipmentCTandasuperconductingmagnet RMat1.5Tesla.Imageswereacquiredinsagittalandtransverseplanes.Medicalimagingprocessingwithimagingsoftwarewas appliedtoobtainpostprocessingCTandMRimages.Relevantanatomicstructureswereidenti?edandlabelled.Theresulting imagesprovidedexcellentanatomicdetailoftheTMJandassociatedstructures.AnnotatedCTandMRimagesfromthisstudy areintendedasananatomicalreferenceusefulintheinterpretationforclinicalCTandMRimagingstudiesoftheTMJofthe dromedarycamels. 1.Introduction clinical value of CT and MRI of the TMJ [22–25]. To the author’sknowledge,thereisnopublishedmaterialdescribing the results of CT and MRI of the mature camel TMJ. An accurateinterpretationoftheCTandMRInormalanatomy isnecessaryfortheevaluationofpathologicaltissues. Theobjectiveofthisstudywastoprovideanoverview ofthenormalanatomyoftheTMJofthedromedarycamel using CT, MR images, and transverse gross anatomical section.
