CongenitalPulmonaryMalformations(CPMs)areagroupofrarelungabnormalitiesa?ectingtheairways,parenchyma,and vasculature.eyrepresentaspectrumofabnormaldevelopmentratherthandiscretepathologicalentities.eyarecausedby aberrantembryologicallungdevelopmentwhichoccursatdi?erentstagesofintrauterinelife. 1.CongenitalPulmonary Malformations(CPMs) epresentation,naturalhistory,diagnosisandmanage- ment of congenital pulmonary airway malformation, con- genital lobar emphysema, pulmonary sequestration, bron- chogenic cyst, and pleuropulmonary blastoma will be dis- cussed. CPMs are a group of rare lung abnormalities a?ecting the airways, parenchyma, and vasculature. ey represent a spectrum of abnormal development rather than discrete pathological entities. ey are caused by aberrant embry- ologicallungdevelopmentwhichoccursatdi?erentstagesof intrauterinelife. 2.CongenitalPulmonaryAirway Malformation(CPAM) With improved resolution of foetal sonography and Dopplerstudies,manyoftheselesionsaredetected“inutero.” eir natural history can be quite variable.
