Methods:Wereportontwocasesinwhichmonotherapyoftheselectiveserotoninreuptakeinhibitorandsigma- 1receptoragonistfluvoxaminewaseffectiveinamelioratingthedeliriumofpatientswithAlzheimer’ sdisease. Results:DeliriumRatingScale(DRS)scoresinthetwopatientswithAlzheimer’sdiseasedecreasedafter fluvoxaminemonotherapy. Conclusion:Doctorsshouldconsiderthatfluvoxaminecouldbeanalternativeapproachintreatingdeliriumin patientswithAlzheimer’sdiseasebecauseoftheriskofextrapyramidalsideeffectsbyantipsychoticdrugs.
