Scarlett , the heroine of the love is full of conflicting and complicated features. Just as for it, she is criticized by a large amount of people and also appreciated by many people. As to her tragedy of love and marriage, lots of people regard that it is the result of her own fault. Her selfishness and vanity ruin her happiness. She is always in solitary journey of love. No doubt Scarlett should be responsible for her tragic love. Her juvenility, conceit and obstinacy make her indulge in the dream of Ashley. However Ashley’s sheer gentleman and cowardness also connive Scarltt, which traps Scarlett by influencing her marriage life and making her unwilling to accept Rhett’s love. On the other side, the change of environment pushes Scarlett pay excessive attention on material life and be too realistic; the semblance between Scarlett and Rhett makes her be uneasy in front of Rhett; the traditional consciousness in Scarlett’s inner heart makes her repel Rhett, all this blocks the love between Rhett and her. The more terrible thing is that Rhett is timid in front of true love because he is brought in an environment of lacking love.
