[Abstract] high school English teaching listening is essential for students learning English, new materials for the students listening comprehension as well as new requirements. This paper analyzes the listening stage, high school English teaching in some of the barriers, combined with their teaching experience made some comments to improve the level of hearing students and thoughts.

Hearing is to determine the English level of the element of the improvement of hearing in fact represents English comprehensive capabilities, we now use the new curriculum for high school English listening but also put forward specific level of development of clear objectives - hearing seven objectives: ① to identify important information in discourse, and a simple extrapolation, ② can understand the operational instructions, and according to the requirements and instructions to complete the task, ③ can understand normal speech rate and listening material for the description of objects, plot development and results, ④ can understand the conversation on familiar topics and can grasp live points, ⑤ can understand the content of familiar topics, identifying different tone expressed by the different attitudes, ⑥ can understand where the information is generally square, for example: weather.
