Activity two: we had a discussion about the symbols of Chinese culture on Sunday last week, as we all known, Chinese culture is very rich and colorful, such as Beijing opera, Chinese calligraphy, china, Qipao, Chinese silk, Chinese embroidery, Chinese paper cutting, terracotta warriors, Chinese architecture, Great wall and so on. Beijing opera is the essence of Chinese culture. It has a history of more than 200 years. During the reign of the Qianlong emperor in the Qing dynasty, Qianlong had an interest in the local opera. In 1790, to celebrate his eightieth birthday, he summoned opera troupes from different places to perform for him in Beijing, so Beijing is not the birthplace but is the forepart of Beijing Opera. Beijing Opera have four main roles, like Sheng, Dan, Jing, and Chou. Sheng is the main male role. Dan is the young and beautiful female role. Jing is the pointed faced male.
