There exist some problems, such as lack of legislation, multi-sectoral management, unclear rights and responsibilities of central and local governments. The recent progress in the field of resource and environmental management was summrized. The experiences of the United States, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea and Australia in coastal wetlands management were analyzed, including legal system, management mechanism, decision-making management and public participation and these will be helpful to improve the management of coastal wetlands.
