I LIKE SINGING Background information： Student: 30 primary school students, Grade 1 Lesson duration: 40 mins Teaching objectives: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to : say the sentence of “I like singing, drawing,dancing……”in English； ask and answer questions about one’s hobbies in English. Teaching contents: Vocabulary of hobbies Do you like singing/ drawing/ dancing……？Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. Teaching aids: Blackboard, chalk, PPT, pictures, white papers. Type of the lesson: Vocabulary, speaking Function: To describe what they like doing and how about the others. Teaching procedures: Step 1. Introduction 1、What do you like? Do you like apples? I like……（Students will get the fruit they like.） 2、Show cartoon clips and introduce sentence “I like doing sth”. Step 2. Lead in Practise the sentence structure with a chat. Step 3. Presentation Learn the words: use pictures and actions to introduce the words. Use the structures :“What do you like? ”；“I like…” ；“How about you? ”；“Do you like…?”. A survey: Each student will get a survey sheet and ask other students what they like. Fill in the sheet and get to know the word “best”. Learn the text: Students repeat and act it out. Step 5. Production Work in pairs. Use the sentence structures： “I like…” ；“Do you like…”；“How about you?”；“What do you like?” to perform communicative task. Optional activities and homework: Optional activities: Ask students’ hobbies and organize students to choose their favorite clubs. Homework: Write a short paragraph to introduce the hobbies of your family members to your friends.
