The kindergartners were asked to invite a VIP to school at 2:30 pm. The VIP is a very important person in their lives. As I was waiting in the hallway, I got a chance to read what seemed to be posters by the kindergartners with the question what are you thankful for. I was amazed by the answers the little ones gave. Some of them were thankful for their grandparents, and others for their friends. I scanned the posters really fast to see the one made by my five-year-old daughter. I wanted to know what my daughter was thankful for. Finally I saw it. On hers, she wrote, I am thankful for my sisters, my brother, my mom and my dad. Her reply to the question gave me great joy. My daughter was not taking what she has, a family that shows her love, for granted. I think life is too short to be ungrateful, and when you are not giving thanks, you are being ungrateful. Do not take little things for granted. When you wake up in the morning, go into the bathroom, turn on the water and take a shower, remember that for many people in the world, that is just a dream which they may never see come true. When you enjoy a good meal, think of many people who will go to bed tonight hungry. One winter night, if you sleep on a cozy bed in a warm room, think about what the homeless men and women on the streets are going through. We all should let our hearts be filled with gratitude all the time for what we have and even for our dreams. It is often said that one of the most powerful forms of prayers is giving thanks. Thank God for what you want, as if you already got it in your possession. When you give thanks for what you want, it increases your belief level, and that is important because it will be hard for you to achieve your desire .if you dont believe in it.
