Abstract:In view of the ain proble s facing traditional relay protection syste , the research actualities of wide-area relay
protection algorith are described.Two structural odes, i.e.the centralized and distributed odes of wide-area relay
protection syste are presented.The Agent-based and network-based wide-area relay protection syste sche es are
expounded, and the advantages of wide-area relay protection syste over traditional relay protection are su arized.
Proble s to be solved in further study are indicated as well.
