China Abstract: From the point of lexical view, the article studies the word-building of 211 plants in SHANHAIJING (Records fo the Mountains and Riv ers ,an anlient Chinese book) and revealssome characteristics by researching their types of structure and components of word-building all round: single morpheme-words consist of the body of plant words; the majority of compounds are thewords that havemodifiers, of which the type of noun-noun is leadingform;the elements that have character of verb in plant words are seldom ,etc. On the basis of these research the article analyses and complains the facts.
