First, I would like to give you a brief overview of Temple Solitary Joy Temple is located in the center of the ancient city of Ji County, commonly known as Big Buddha Temple which is a large wooden architecture of Chinas ancient masterpiece. It combines the ancient architectures, frescoes, statues, and it has become one of the first national key cultural relic’s protection units in 1961. Solitary Joy Temple is comprised of east, west and central parts, monks rooms and Xanadus in the east and west parts, temple gate and the Avalokitesvara Pavilion in the central part. According to historical record, in the second year (984) of the Tonghe reign, the temple was rebuilt. Except the temple gate and Avalokitesvara Pavilion built in the Liao Dynasty (916-1125), other buildings in the temple were all built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911).
