A topic marker or case marker is a grammatical particle found in the Japanese and Korean languages used to mark the topic of a sentence. * * * In general, dictionary building process is very time-consuming and costly, because you have to hire a number of qualified translators. To speedy and cost-effective term building process, we initially came up with semi automatic term building process. First of all, we decided to maximize the use of parentheses contained in the Korean patent documents. As you can see form the box below, usually, the Englsih tanslation s of the terms are within the parentheses in the Korean patent documents. We extracted those English Korean pairs semi automatically, and going through the proof readaing process, we built about 250,000 entires. Another resource for the semi automatic dictionary construction was bilingual patent title corpus. Korean patent is filed with the KIPO, the title of the patent must be writt4en both in Korean and English.
