Windows 7 significantly simplifies the management of network connections by providing all the required tools in one central location, the Network and Sharing Center. Mention that you can access the Network and Sharing Center in either of two ways: through the Windows Control Panel, or by typing “Network and Sharing Center” in the search box on the Start menu. Important: After reviewing the features on the first frame, click to display the screen shot of the Sharing options for each network location. Discuss the network location options as described in the student guide. Point out that the Network and Sharing Center allows you to configure the settings for the home, work, and public location, but not the domain location. Domain sharing setting options are typically handled through group policy by IT administrators. At this point, open the Network and Sharing Center, and then select the Change advanced sharing settings option. The screen shot on this build slide shows the options for the Public profile. Click on the Home or Work option to display the sharing settings for each of these network locations.
