§
§ inversion interpretation
§
§ English sentences usually have two word order: one is the presentation sequence, is an inverted order.
§ puts predicate part or all of the subject is called the inverted order before order.
§ inversion can be divided into two kinds: the whole before predicate mentioned subject called complete inversion (full inversion);
§ and will only be called before, modal verbs or auxiliary verbs on the subject of inversion (partial inversion).
Part of the inversion
Part of the inversion is to put the verb, the modal verb, the auxiliary verb before the subject. If it were not for the word in the sentence, only solid righteousness, to be before the subject and auxiliary verbs do/does/did, but after the original into a prototype on the subject of the verb.
An adverbial is a negative or a semi-negative sentence.
This kind of words or phrases are what, not, no, never, neither, nor, little, seldom, rarely, motion, scarcely, and in no way, at no time, by no means, under no circumstances, etc., : phrases: motion... The when,
Scarcely... When, no sooner... Than, not only... But also not until
Never have I found him so happy
I cant swim.
Seldom? The do? I? The go? The to? The work? By? bus
The first clause in the sentence should be partially inverted.
Not only does John love Chinese, he is also good at speaking it.
Motion... The when, Scarcely... When, no sooner... Than, the Lord never falls
When the main sentence is used in the past, the clause is used in the past tense, e.g.
Hardly had he got back to the kitchen when she found it full of smoke.
No sooner had he arrived there than he fell ill.
Only a partial inversion will be put in the first sentence. Such as:
Only? The in? This? The way? The can? You? Solve? This? problem
Only then did I realize the importance of math.
Only? After? He? Yudhoyono? Spoken? The out? The? The word? Did? He? Realize? He? Yudhoyono? Made? A? The big? Mistake.
Only in this way, make progress in your English.
