Generally speaking, there are 4 modules of business negotiation: Enquiry reply Offer counter-offer Acceptance Conclusion of a contract But it is unnecessary for transactions to cover all 4 modules above. What is an enquiry? An act of asking for information. An official investigation. Search for truth, information, or knowledge. Requests for information about your current or future listings are stored as enquiries. It allows you to (a) respond immediately with relevant property details and, (b) follow-up the request with updates on matching properties. HOW MANY types does an enquiry have? 1. General enquiry 2. specific enquiry General enquiry vs specific enquiry General enquiry : specific enquiry General info. Products info. catalogue, price list specification of a sample, quotation sheets commodity, shipment an illustration, or photos the quantity, unit price FOB or CIF Enquiry made by: Post mail/ fax/ e-mail/ telephone/ courier service. Enquiry Guidelines: Make it professional 1. before-handling info.: estimated quantity, Pricing of destination for FOB or CIF. 2. Your suppliers’ background information. 3. Clear requirement : prices/ discounts/ payment/ delivery time/ reply 4. Enquiry letters : simple and short 5. Notice that enquiry should be addressed to the company for a quick attention. Satisfactory offer: Products descriptions: Brand/ Quality/ quantity/ specifications. Unit price/ currency types Terms of payment and discounts. Indication of price coverage.
