An Analysis of Henry IV 陈改英 （班级：20009-1 学号：014001091031） Abstract: Henry IV is the one of the most remarkable historical plays of Shakespeare. It deals with events of the 15th century and gives the picture of a troubled reign .First it’s about the rebellion of the Percy family and it’s defeat. Secondly ,is about the dissolute conduct of Price Hal ,who leads a riotous life with the old ruffian Sir John Falstaff and his fellow rogues in the Boar’s Head tavern in London .But it is really appreciate the will of Prince Hal to get rid of the bad habit and his bad friends ,growing into a wise able King . Key words: rebellion dissolute conduct development honor legitimacy Introduction: I write this paper is exactly out of having no choice but the assignment I have to bear on .For it’s the first time I learn to write a paper, unavoidable there will be something imperfect, I expect your criticisms and suggestions sincerely .Judging by the lack of necessary comments material of Henry IV, I can’t present you the book I read in a multi-angle way .Here I just say something about what I have acknowledged in my hand respectively. To begin with, the book wrote something about the background of the instability of the Feudal Kingdom. Henry IV took the crown from Richard III, but he never felt easy on the throne .In law, it should be succeeded by somebody else. Though he tried to be a good King, he had no ability to make the feudal lords standing on the same line with him. When he asked Hotspur –the leader of the rebel after –to pass the prisoners of war on to him, he refused, thus leading the rebellion of him. However ,all the aristocracy were filled with arrogant, superstition , making profits for their own ,they can’t form a strong unit , were doomed to be defeated .Then was the riotous life of Prince Hal with Sir John Falstaff , who is fat , old ,ugly , gross and guilty of many sins .He was one of the most brilliant creations in Shakespeare’s plays havi
