美国总统（富兰克林-罗斯福）就职演说 First Inaugural Address 　　Franklin Delano Roosevelt 　　First Inaugural Address 　　Delivered 4 March 1933 　　关于“位”：指担任过总统的实际人数。美国从1789年开始选举总统至今，不论是连选连任，还是先后当选几任，不重复计算，有几位算几位，已先后有42人担任过总统职务。 　　President Hoover, Mr. Chief Justice, my friends: 　　This is a day of national consecration. And I am certain that on this day my fellow Americans expect that on my induction into the Presidency, I will address them with a candor and a decision which the present situation of our people impels. 　　各州总统预选将产生本州参加全国代表大会的“承诺代表”，他们以预选结果为依据，承诺支持本党的某一竞选人。两党“承诺代表”的名额和分配机制有所不同。民主党一般根据预选中各竞选人的支持率来分配代表数额。共和党在一部分州按竞选人支持率来分配代表数额，在其他州则执行“胜者全得”的规定。除“承诺代表”外，参加党代会的还包括少数“未承诺代表”(民主党称“超级代表”)。他们主要是党内知名人士，如党的全国委员会成员、参议员或州长以及党派领导人等;他们并非经由初选表决推举，可以在党代会前不承诺支持某位候选人。 　　想想也觉得自己满幸运的，学校各类航运大公司的宣讲会我一个都没去过，而事实上宣讲会上大批大批的笔试，对应聘者是很不利的，很多优秀的同学可能连一面的机会也没有就被筛掉了，很不经意的有一天打开email，看到学校发的信件中有一封是美国总统轮船APL仍在招人，希望同学们于几号前网申，看信那天已经是截止日期的前一天了。网申后过了一段时间HR姐姐在大年夜的前一天打电话通知我去面试，2月26日去的，而当时已经准备2月26要去上班，于是便和LISA 商量能不能改在过年以前，她很干脆的就叫我第二天也就是大年夜去了。而现在想想我当时把面试改在大年夜也是一大有利优势，和别的面试者都分开，单独的、又是那么特别的一个日子，比较容易让HR记住。PS，HR很时髦。 　　This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure, as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. 　　So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself -- nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life, a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. And I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days. 　　In such a spirit on my part and on yours we face our common difficulties.
